Great value radio, but significant battery drainReview by Michael
Value Price Installation difficulty Durability Quality
It does have about a .2 amp power draw to retain the radio memory when the car is turned off. Because my car battery is old, getting close to needing to be replaced, and I don't drive that car much, the radio draws too much power when the car is not in use. So, I adjusted the radio wiring to not retain memory when the key is off (hooked yellow wire to switched power instead of constant).
There are some car radios that do not have a significant power drain to retain their memory, and I recommend spending the extra money to get one of those. I wish I had done that instead.
If you have a newer batter and drive the car a lot (gets a full recharge every day due to driving), the power drain on this radio might not be an issue for you. (Posted on 2/19/15)
