Disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery. You can opt to remove the seats in your vehicle to facilitate a easier installation. You will need to run wires in between the two seats and up to the drivers knee area. Removing the seats makes this process much easier. You will need to disconnect many wiring harnesses under the seats to remove the seat. Make sure that you have removed the negative terminal of your battery before beginning any installation.

There are generally two types of seats used in vehicles today. One type has a seat back that is removable, the other is a fully upholstered seat. Many import vehicles have a removable seat back and many domestic vehicles have a fully upholstered seat. To remove a removable seat back, you will need to locate pop fasteners or screws. To remove the fully upholstered seat upholstery, you will need to fully recline the seat to reveal the clasp that holds the upholstery together at the base of the seat back.

With the seat back or upholstery removed, you will need to determine the appropriate path for the wiring.

Loop the headrest monitor wire to prevent damage when the headrest is in the raised position. Make sure to use a wire tie with a 4" loop to allow free range of motion when the headrest is raised or lowered.

You will need to reinstall the seats and reconnect the vehicles harnesses together. You will also need to connect the wiring that was run from the headrest monitor control box between the two seats.

Make sure to secure the headrest monitor wiring through the seat using zip ties. You will want to make sure that you leave enough slack to prevent damage to the wiring when the seat is operated to its full range of motion. We also advise that you wrap with electrical tape the connection between the headrest monitor extension cable and the headrest monitor seat cable to prevent it from unplugging when moving the seat.

Double check that you have properly reinstalled all of the factory wiring connections before reconnecting the battery. Power the system up an enjoy!
