Radio Removal Tool

Radio removal tools used to safely take out a factory-installed car stereo, DVD player, or GPS navigation unit without damaging the dash or the surrounding hardware. Many factory head units are held in place by spring clips accessed through small slots on the front of the unit, and these tools are designed to insert into those slots and release the clips so the radio can slide free. Because slot spacing and clip design vary by manufacturer, removal tools are typically vehicle-specific — this selection includes keys sized for a range of makes and models, from domestic brands like Pontiac to import brands like Audi, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen. Using the correct removal tool for a vehicle helps installers access wiring and connectors behind the factory radio cleanly, reducing the risk of scratched trim or a broken mounting tab during removal.
Radio removal tools make it much easier to uninstall in-dash sound systems, DVD players, and GPS systems. A removal tool can greatly reduce the chances of damaging the existing hardware of your system.
