4 x 6 car speakers
The use of 4x6 inch car speakers can usually be found in older model mid-sized vehicles. Factory 4 x 6 inch speakers lack a dedicated tweeter and are usually equipped with a whizzler to facilitate some high frequency reproduction. Contrary, aftermarket speakers are usually outfitted with a tweeter in a coaxial design providing a much more full-range sound. 4x6 inch car speakers are outfitted with a relatively small woofer. This woofer will be limited in its ability to produce low bass. For this reason it is high recommended to add a subwoofer and crossover to prevent damage to these small speakers. The oval shape makes the speaker easy mount virtually anywhere and in smaller spaces than could allow a round speaker.
