The Metra IBMS-5 is a clear-view SPST mercury tilt switch designed to open and close an electrical circuit when tilted in opposite directions. It operates from 8 to 15 volts DC and is ideal for car alarm triggers, trunk lights, hood lights, and custom automotive projects. Rated for up to 5 amps at 12 volts DC, the switch includes a metal mounting bracket for secure installation. A relay is required when controlling loads that draw more than 5 amps.
