Your Rating

Whether you want to call it ultra compact, micro, or small, the Pioneer GM-D1004 will wear the name proudly. This 4 channel amp is literally the size of a standard red brick, maybe a
little smaller, so you could absolutely fit it anywhere in your car. Trunk, under a seat, glove box, or even literally behind the chassis of a digital media receiver. Hell, put it vertically in your
cupholder, who cares.

The GM-D1004 is the perfect amp when space is a conern and works great not only in cars but also for other applications like motorcycles, ATV's or boats. Put it in your kids 4
wheel.

The power it provides is remakable for its size, sending 45W to each of your 4 stereo speakers at 2 or 4 ohms, and 90W bridged by 2 channels at 4 ohms for a subwoofer. Its dimensions are
1-1/2" in height, 7-1/8" in width and 2-1/2" in depth. It operates in 2 channel, 3 channel or 4 channel modes. The Refined Class FD Design makes it runs cool and offers extreme efficiency
making it perfect for mounting in hidden locations plus produces high quality sound.

One of the best parts of the GM-D1004 is how easy it is to install, it comes with everything you need. Mounting hardware, a power and ground harness with speaker connections, speaker
level input harness and RCA inputs. Simply connect power and ground at the radio and use the hi level or low level inputs which have a signal sense remote turn on so you can use it in
combination with a factory or aftermarket headunit.

The amplifier has two built in crossovers, one for the A channel and one for the B channel, or front and rear, both can be a high pass or low pass crossover. The signal input accepts either
the RCA's or the speaker level input harness. You can also select 2 channel or 4 channel operation.

The GM-D1004 is simple, compact and has real power. Its like a tiny yoga instructor. She might looks small, but she's probably stronger than you.

Amplifier Installation basics

Let's start with the basics of adding or installing a car amplifier. First you will need to plan your installation and power wiring, this usually is the most difficult part of the installation for most.

How to choose the proper wire size explained

What size power wire do I need for my amplifier? Well, that depends on the length of the wire and the power consumption of the amplifier. We walk you through how to choose the right gauge wire and wire material depending on your amplifier installation requirements.

How to wire speakers and subwoofers to your new amplifier

In our third video we demonstrate the various ways you can wire speakers and amplifiers to all types of amplifiers. There different ways to do this depending on the type of amplifier you choose to purchase.

What is gain? How do I set it properly?

In our fourth video we demonstrate how to set the gains on your amplifier to prevent damage to your speakers, subwoofers and even possibly your new amplifier. Using a portable oscilloscope we show you how to set your gains.
